As I said before I would be back with an update on the festival coordinates and organization…. We discussed a series of things and logistically we are set, yet we are just putting the final touches on a couple of things but they will be finalized and closed very soon.
So here are some of the new things we have added for all of you this year:
The V.I.P. Section – Many concerns voiced by email and telephone have been about food and beverage – Seating will be available and the section will be fully catered and an open Full Bar will be stocked for all those in attendance, bartender and all. With one stipulation – for everyone’s safety we are limiting the alcohol consumption but unlimited soft drinks, water and catered hot and cold food will be available.
Those in V.I.P. will be seated adjacent to the main stage and will be at a higher platform than the stage to ensure the ultimate visibility. Keep in mind the definition of V.I.P. is Very Important Person – therefore, your treatment will echo that.
Money Orders are still the only form of payment, or Cash at Noel Records on West Dixie Highway. Reservations continue to be limited, and they are going fast. Reservations can be made until May 5th or until we reach our limit – it is a first come first serve basis. 305-343-4750 For Reservations or email VIPCompas@hotmail.com – a form will be sent to you via email or fax to be filled out to hold your reservation and once your Money Order is mailed and sent to the designated address you will receive a confirmation via fax or email that will need to be presented at the Will Call Gate the day of the festival with Photo I.D. There will also be a private entrance for all V.I.P.’s.
For $100 – Think about it – A Regular ticket to the Festival, food and drinks for almost 9 hours and a private view and seat… That’s less than you would pay at an American Music Concert for one of your favorite artists and here it’s a handful of performers.
Keep in mind ladies and gentleman that the stage is being designed and created by the same exact company which erected the MTV Music Awards Stage in Miami... We are duplicating the stage with a few slight originalities... So you will not be dissappointed!
Vending – We are increasing the amounts of Vendors we will have and putting them closer to the crowd to make it accessible easier for all of you due to the vastness of Bicentennial Park.
Seating – Bleachers at the park will be available for those searching for seating. This year Beach Chairs and Folding Chairs will also be allowed at the gate for those who desire to bring personal seating.
Another exciting addition this year is a Festival Contest. Judges will be on hand at the Festival to help critique and monitor the show from a professional point of view. They will be judging all the performances in three categories 1) Best Dressed/Costume 2) Best Performance and 3) Crowd Favorite We are getting judges from all boroughs including Canada, Haiti, Miami, New York and Boston, who have been in the business for years and can use their expertise to decide who the winner in each category is. In an effort to encourage artists to come with their “A” Game, as always, Noel & Cecibon Productions is making it worth their while. Trophies at the end of the show will be awarded to the winners.
For all the members of the media – All Press Pass request Applications have been submitted and NO REQUESTS ARE BEING ACCEPTED. The deadline to put in your request was April 7th, 2006 and it remains. No Exceptions! So for those of you who didn’t get in your application on time, please make a note of it for next year – Applications are available from August 2006 until April 2007.
I think I’ve covered all the things that were discussed at our meeting that the public had questions on… We hope that we see all of you on May 20, 2006. We are planning a couple of surprises and this year we are making a distinct effort to make the 8th Annual Haitian Compas Festival, one of the best!
And guys – For next year, don’t think we are listening to who you want to see, and what your opinions are because we have eyes and ears everywhere – Without You – the public – we would have no festival! So keep your opinions and suggestions coming – Hey we even welcome criticism, it makes us grow!
Save the date – May 20, 2006 – the Rendezvous is set for Bicentennial Park at the 8th Annual Haitian Compas Festival
