It is sad to hear how many of Compas lover swear Djakout Mizik's swing is new and was created by DJakout Mizik. It sadden me to hear when people talk like that, because it shows the audience really don't know anyting about Compas before the Digital era.

1, Djakout was not the first VOLE PONPE band.

2, The guitar groov is not new. At least the original groovers used a real guitar.

3, Djakout's slogan tactics is old school style.

Here is a LIVE from DP (the original vole ponpe) band. Listen to it, you will hear something you might think was a Nouvel Generation thing.

LISTEN===> ZEL SAPAT aka VERITE

M pa di yo anvate yo non...men Djaz Vole ponpe a...u know there is only one in the old school Laughing DP was on another level with their sound. U know most bands were still playing the COMPAS DIRECT rhytm ie SKAH SHAH, BOSSA, Tabou, and DEJEAN. System later did something combining all the great elements of these styles to make an awsome style that seem to be a staple of full bands now. Djakout actually did someting to the system style which add speed. Adding speed brought you back to the VOLE PONPE band once again.

Stage presence is much TABOU. The BLUFFER side is much BOSSA COMBO's Style. "BEL CHEN LO SA KI NAN KOU A LA, TOUTOU,,,se mwen ki ba li lo. BEL MACHINE SA A...se mwen ki ba li lo." ala djazz te bluffer mezanmi!

Kunta,
I just listened to the track, but I have to confess that I don't see the relationship between DP and Djakout from what I heard.

This might help you better. Listen to the SWING more than just the music itself. Best track to do that will be GRACE. Just follow GRACE you will hear what I am talking about. You can pick up up aroun 5:29 in the music what swing I am talking about. Listen to the swing specially the guitar swing tiregie loves doing on the keyboard.

GRACE

Now check this mix out.

KUNTA's DP GROOV MIX
