From what I am being told, this group of HMI VETERANS have a pretty good program that seems to be working in Haiti. In the group you get veterans such as

MICHEL LARAQUE (I believe IBO COMBO)
PASCAL ALBERT (AMBASSADEURS)
JOEL JEAN JACQUES
and other veterans.

The CD has 12 tracks on it and it's called "PAPA RETRO". They basically remade some classic songs from such bands as IBO COMBO, LES CORVINGTON, LES CHELBE, SKAH-SHAH, CARIBBEAN SEXTET, JAZZ DES JEUNES, SEPTEN, NEMOURS JEAN BAPTISTE. A classic compas fans' paradise.

***THE MP3'S ARE NOW OFF. You can listen to one of the songs on the KM JUKEBOX on KM RADIO.

Enjoy

MP3s will be on for 24 hours...then gone.

PS: The group will make their debut at S.O.B's next month.

I've always wondered if former Caribbean SEXTET bass player ALIX CORVINGTON was somehow related or played in the group LES CORVINGTON.

On another note, every time I think of Ambassadeurs vocalist Pascal Albert, the song "Bobine Fil" always comes to mind. "Gade'w groseur Bobine...WEPA"

Pat,

Alix was indeed part of LES CORVINGTON. He formed the band with Michel Corvington of IBO COMBO fame
