****************
An HMI artist who I was talking to says that HMI promoters should be very careful when they say NO to a band when they are in a slump, and he used ARLY LARIVIERE as an example to make his point.
MUSICIAN: "When GAZZMAN had just left NU LOOK and the group did not yet release their latest cd, NU LOOK would basically play for peanuts compared to what they are used to asking. There were a lot of promoters who would not even pay attention to Nu Look because they felt that the band was on its way down. Now, I can tell you that these promoters are paying the price because there is no way that the ones that did not want to deal with the band back then are either getting gigs, or they will be charged an arm and a leg ANPIL KOB in order for them to get a Nu Look gig. Arly Lariviere is having the last laugh on them right now.
This message goes to HMI promoters. BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU DON'T WANT TO DEAL WITH A BAND because when they drop a cd that is working very well out there on the market....GOOD LUCK TRYING TO BOOK THAT BAND, and if you do get a date...PREPARE TO PAY A HUGE AMOUNT OF MONEY to make you pay for what you had done. Promoters should show respect to the bands in times of struggle."
