We understand that the BOOM BLAST dropped by GABEL vocalist KATALOG on KM the other day regarding certain radio personalities, was such a big deal that Radio personality TOTO BORGELLA did 2 shows back to back about that issue on his own radio show. This is what BORGELLA told KM about what KATALOG said.

BORGELLA: "I AM SCARED/AFRAID for GABEL. MWEN PEU POU GABEL. I feel that KATALOG should have been more diplomatic with his message. LI TE PIKE...LI TE TWO FORT. Even though we know that he was talking to LOUKO and JOSIAS, and even though many of us might not agree with where those 2 stand at times, they remain 2 pioneers in the Haitian radio business. 2 NEG SA YO FE ANPIL POU BIZNIS LA, and I fear that with KATALOG saying that GIN LOT OPTION instead of radio, that the radio announcers don't turn around and turn it against GABEL for what KATALOG said. MWEN PENSE KATALOG TE ALE TRES TRES FOR SOU SA LI DI YO."

KM!

I, personally don't give a hoot about what any radio personel thinks... whether they are right or wrong.. but that being said... Gabel yon ti jan aji ak awogans pafwa...
Let the fans blast those "animateurs"... and you as a band leader, if you know you're doing things that you are suposed to do.. WHY NOT JUST KEEP DOING THE RIGHT THING..

nan akizasyon KATA an.. li t'ap pi bon si misyeu te mache direk sou JOSIAS ak LOUCO..

one thing I never could understand in the HMI business is this: Why do Haitian Bands have to pay a radio to play its music while it should be the other way around? (i.e. radios, TV should pay royalties to any artist for their work). In the AMI, anytime someone uses an artist work without their consent, one can be sure that you will be sue for copyright infringement. That's why I always said that most of our artists don't even understand the business they are in.

It's the same thing in every country, radios will play all music but will ask to negociate if they need to blast or promote a product.
The difference between HMI radios and the AMI is that the AMI radios get $$$$$$$ to promote a song but they still pay their royalty fees for each time the song is aired, the HMI radio animators get pocket change to promote but never pay any royalty fee. At least in the HMI they don't get to pay huge amount for promotion like in the AMI
