It's the same thing in every country, radios will play all music but will ask to negociate if they need to blast or promote a product.
The difference between HMI radios and the AMI is that the AMI radios get $$$$$$$ to promote a song but they still pay their royalty fees for each time the song is aired, the HMI radio animators get pocket change to promote but never pay any royalty fee.
