ANALYSIS:
*TEMPO had no serious competition in its way this year as they win the BEST NEW GROUP of the 2009 HMI season as voted by the 52 HMI panel members.
PS: BELJAZ was nominated last year as they lost to Harmonik.

In Haiti I know the group has been trekking and pounding the pavement. On both sides of the fence, both positive and negative they have had highlights and low-tides and have remained solid. New York always comes out with some great artists and if Tempo works harder and continues with the same determination, I think they have a chance of earning full stability in the HMI."

If we are talking about best new CD from a new group, I say that Rafrechi (i know, my band) has it in the bag. I'm really not trying to sound cocky, but if you get people to listen track by track to the music of all these CD's, Rafrechi has the best music, melodies, and solos.
Now, if we are talking about coming out and doing everything right with a debut CD, I think TEMPO has this in the bag. I'm proud of these guys. They've done an amazing job with promoting themselves and getting key gigs. They're playing good music and a big congratulations is due to those guys. keep doing your thing!"
