The award goes to NU LOOK!
ANALYSIS:
*NU LOOK wins the award for the SECOND YEAR IN A ROW, just a mere few days after the departure of their popular lead singer GAZZMAN COULEUR. Despite many dramatic issues throughout the year that the band went through, the bottom line is, you simply can't take away what belongs to them, the HMI has declared 2009 as NU LOOK year. Congrats NU LOOK. 2009 was "YOUR" year. NU LOOK....Kompa Magazine's 2009 GROUP OF THE YEAR as voted by the 52
HMI panel members.

*QUOTES (Some Quotes from our panel members)
+ ROBERTO MARTINO: "Ahh T-Vice moncher no doubt! Ou fe Panama deja? haa..Seriously, I think we had a great year but if can't choose vicela i'll Have to go with Nulook, Still very popular although it's been awhle sonce ABO came out."
+ FABRICE ROUZIER: "My pick KREYOL LA certainly made major moves this year and in my opinion have been more consistent than any other band in the business."
+ PAPA JUBE: "This was a bit harder to decide, I really went back and forth between "CARIMI & T-VICE", after digging really deep inside, I have to give it to "TVICE" they really have improved at large, on their musicianship, their sounds, and the chemistry of the band, I mean Roberto and Ronaldo are doing it man, the band is simply hot."
+ ALAN CAVE: "ZIN..sak pa dako ambake...lol ...WOY ....pa pati ave m souple ...i'm just kidding. My vote goes to Harmonick...lotre jou mwen fe yon ti jam ave yo miami..kay la manke pran dife...si neg sa yo kinbe yap rive lwen....section vocal la mim c tet chaje."
+SANDERS: "Group of the year to me is nu look based on their summer tour and the way they've been talked about specially in haiti."
+MIA LOPEZ: "HARMONIK has really took a stance. In only their first year they have generated fans from all over, they have managed to book gigs everywhere and they also put out a Live Album. They are working hard to prove themselves worthy of their HMI status and I think the entire industry, including other groups have taken notice."
+REGINALD FOSBARON Festival: "HARMONIK has my vote on this one. For a new band they surpasse many veterans in the HMI this year. Bravo Harmonik keep up the good work."
