After seeing our post earlier today, Zenglen maestro Brutus told us that the reason that he gave Shedley a call was indeed for him to play several gigs with the band when Richie is not able to make it to some gigs in the future. He said it was not to replace Richie in the band.

He said that he needs to have several options open in situations like this just in case Richie or Nick have to miss other gigs in the future.

Just curious Fam,

What makes him appear as a “ti-leader” ?

It is Brutus duty as the maestro to meet it's band motto, "Zenglen Forever."

I can understand why he wanted to have a back-up plan. No one called Richie a "Ti-leader" when he decided to have two singers up front in order to prevent a Gracia-like drama.

Good move Brutus.

Damn if you do, damn if you don't. I think it is smart to have a PLAN B, it's better than be unprepared and looking unprofessional.

Shedley has been quoted as saying he will be a gigger for life, so what's the big deal exactly.

I think it is a good move on the part of Brutus to have a back up drummer and keyboard player. Because the band should not have to miss their gigs because Nicky is performing elsewhere to promote his album or Richie is out of town working on a project. It is a matter of making sure that the substitue musician is capable of giving a seamless performance by not adding a different style with the group.

Great move by Brutus Exclamation Exclamation Nan tout bisnis supose ginyin on backup help/plan.

Better safe than sorry... I'm glad to see him searching and thinking ahead about a replacement for Richie.
I would be highly upset to attend a Zenglen bal and hear them telling me that "We're sorry but we had no idea that Richie wouldn't be here for this party BLAH BLAH BLAH".
