With ANSYTO leaving, WELTON uncertain, a comment by STEPHANE GILLES caught our attention in our Q&A with him. Read the quote below

STEPHANE: " At this point I can't guarantee anything. I have yet to speak to Michel about what direction he is going. I will honor any contracts the band had prior to the changes but after that nothing is definite. I love music but unfortunately this is a business and I have to do what is best for me and my career. If Sweet Micky is no longer in my future I would have no problem starting on my own again."

*Any contracts prior to the "CHANGES".....What changes?

"At This point, I CAN'T GUARANTEE ANYTHING"....Sign of UNCERTAINTY

STEPHANE....Can you elaborate?

What is going on with SWEET MICKY and his band/musical career?

NORMALLY we would send an e-mail to a band's PR if we can't get in touch with the artist, but Ms Martelly is NOT one that replies to e-mails easily...or maybe she chooses WHOM to reply to or WHEN to reply. That's a NO GO for me.

SA KAP PASSE NAN CAMP MICKY AN?
Fans want to know.
Is he retiring? Is he taking a break?

KM!

Pat, I understand.

From what I heard, I think the president is putting music to rest and start thinking about the future of Haiti.

Is he gonna run for PALAIS NATIONAL? Let's wait and see.

MICHEL MARTELLY vs WYCLEF JEAN .... very interesting!

Let me try to clarify this as much as i can.

After our last gig at Brasseri Creole in NY about 2 weeks ago, I was told that the band was going to take time off to work on a new album. I then heard that Ansyto decided to leave the band. Ansyto is and has always been a big part of Sweet Micky, and with him leaving the band, that's a very big change. As i mentioned before, i have yet to speak to Michel and until I do so I can't guarantee anything. As of now I am uncertain about what's going on. I know that we have a few gigs coming up in April and I'm sure the band will have to honor them, so I'm willing to help the band fulfill the remaining contracts and by then i will know what to do.

Thanks

Well, anybody can make any comments they want. When micky says, he is no longer doing music, then everyone can believe it. So, any musicians can express his or her opinions. That is normal. But, remember, micky is the band. He can pull musicians anytime he wants and restart the engine. So, until i hear from micky himself, i do not think sweet micky, the band is out of the HMI scene.
So, i thik stephane is more concerned about his future with the band than abou the future of the band itself.
Maybe, Micky feels that he has played too much and needs some kind of break to recover.

If Mickey retires, I say good riddance. This man has done more harm than good for our music.
