For Immediate Release:

In anticipation of what is expected to be one of this year’s hottest album releases. DOLA Mizik is back with a new album "New York Time". The title “New York Time” was bought forth because of the lack of New York’s HMI scene. In the days of Phantom, Zin, System Band and Skah Shah #1, these bands originated, played and dominated the HMI scene on a regular basis in New York area and abroad. New York was the place to be when it came to partying. Every Haitian band wanted to play at Château Royal, Club A, Rendez-vous, Café Des Arts or Plant Malibu, in the 1980’s, 90’s and early 2000. Dola Mizik is set to bring the HMI vibe back to “The city that never sleeps” . In 2011 Dola Mizik released a single “Wake Up”, an uplifting song about the tragedy of the 2010 Haiti earthquake and for the people to put their heads together and continue to persevere. Now in 2012, the first single off of the new album "U My Baby", will hit airwave later this month. This album was produced by Jean Max Valcourt with featured artists from Martine Marseille, DJ Bobby Jamz, and more. Dola Mizik wanted the album's intensity to match the bands struggle, their new vibe and band members.

The band consist of 9 members: Clinton Benoit (Singer), Paul Borno POLO (Singer) Jean Max Valcourt (band leader, keys & singer) Pierre Mary Jean Francois (bass), Phillipe Michel (percussions), Jean Marie Casimir (congas), Jean-Pierre Rene (guitar), Stanley Jean (drums) Jean Riche Damour. These new surroundings allowed Dola Mizik to strengthen their relationships as band members, management and friends. They are now a more adept band composing both timeless Kompa music with new and innovative sounds. This album consist of love songs, club songs and songs of every day life and struggles that people from any nationality can relate to. Yes this is kompa music at heart but concept and execution is universal.

Dola Mizik Band is very proud of this album and excited for their fans to hear and experience the new adventure they have put together on a new album. “New York Time” will be released over seas in Paris from their record label Afrique Caraibes Production at Foire de Paris this month. The album will be released in the U.S. in May the week of the Haitian Compas Festival in Florida. As for touring dates, our schedule will be announced in the near future.
