I am doing this post not to target KLASS specifically but for all others in the HMI who may not understand the meaning of "GRANDE PREMIERE"....so everyone in this business please take notes....

THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE "GRANDE PREMIERE".....

IN SHOW BUSINESS IT IS ALSO CALLED WORLDWIDE PREMIERE...BECAUSE IT IS THE FIRST PERFORMANCE EVER...FOR A SHOW, A MOVIE, A PLAY AND IN OUR CASE A BAND NO MATTER WHERE IN THE WORLD YOU HAVE IT FIRST....

THE PROPER TERM TO USE IF YOU ARE HAVING IT IN ANOTHER TOWN OR REGION IS: REGIONAL PREMIERE . HOWEVER GREAT PRODUCTION COMPANIES OFTEN USE THE NAME OF THE MAJOR CITY OR REGION IN THEIR ADS FOR THE REGIONAL PREMIERE. THEY WILL CALL THE FIRST SHOW IN BOSTON "BOSTON PREMIERE" OR THE ONE IN NEW YORK "N.Y PREMIERE" FOR EXAMPLE, BUT NOT A GRANDE PREMIERE BECAUSE THEY ALREADY DID THE GRANDE PREMIERE SOMEWHERE ELSE IN THE WORLD...

REMEMBER YOU CAN ONLY HAVE ONE "GRANDE PREMIERE"...IT'S LIKE GIVING BIRTH...YOU HAVE ONE BIRTHDAY....SO THE SHOW, THE BAND,THE PLAY OR WHATEVER HAVE ONE BIRTH DATE AND ONE BIRTH PLACE....If you pay attention to show advertising on radio and t.v, you will hear the announcer say something like THE SHOW WILL PREMIERE IN N.Y ON...this or that date...Why because just like you cannot give birth in 2 different countries or cities...a show too can't have a Grande Premiere in 2 places...So if you hear an ad with those terms bear in mind that the show or whatever the event already had a Grande Premiere somewhere else...

YOU CAN ALSO HAVE A NATIONAL PREMIERE WHICH IS IF YOU ARE SHOWCASING IT FOR THE FIRST TIME IN ANOTHER COUNTRY. EXAMPLE FRANCE - HAITI - DOMINICAN REPUBLIC ETC....

THE BOTTOM LINE IS YOU ONLY HAVE ONE SHOT AT A "GRANDE PREMIERE" THIS IS WHY WHEN A GOOD MOVIE WITH A GREAT CAST IS COMING OUT IN HOLLYWOOD YOU SEE ALL THE EXTRAVAGANZA WITH THE ACTORS PRESENT, RED CARPET, LIMOUSINES AND A BIG MEDIA PRESENCE FOR THE GRANDE PREMIERE....

I think they overuse the word Grande Premiere for marketing purposes to create some buzz. It does sound catchy.

monche Staff this ia all going to fall on def ears cuz all the bands n management will blame the promoters for the faux pas.

Just like Album/CD release parties even though the album has been out 2 months Laughing Laughing or No album at all due to factory delays but party still goes on like nothing was made mention of that Laughing Laughing

BUt like XX says...it sounds catchy and there's really no harm in it. whatever it tkes to gets tix sold
