Make a man feel like a man!!!

You guys and girls ever heard that??? And guys I know a good bit of you might be homophobic but have you ever dispensed that advice to a female relative or significant other? I know I was told this by some elders in the past...but what does that mean to you especially from a Haitian perspective? And please lets not get into the sexual connotation, I just wanna know from a social standpoint what do you think entails making a "Man feel like a Man" The floor is open Very Happy

Making a Man feel like Man... hmmm...

Let's see, in my opinion, I don't need a women, or any person for that matter to make me feel like a man... I feel like a man everyday... What makes me feel like a man... Being able to hold my household down, providing an education & shelter for my kids, being able to lend a hand where ever and whenever needed, & lastly living my life everyday according to the rules and guidelines of my maker, well I try to.

If you've been approach by a dude who tells hints you are not letting him be a man... It may be for several reasons, but two mainly...

1.) He's gay... Laughing

2.) He feels that he is not contributing enough, or doesn't have much to bring to the table as you do.. In that case, I would say you may want to fall back a little in the things you do... For instance, instead of picking up the tab all the time, let him pick up the tab, let him purchase or contribute to the purchasing of items in the household... Drive the hoopty sometime, let him drive the big whip... Laughing Stop say "I do" all the time... For example, I pay the bills, I make more money, I clean, etc... Let him do somethings as well, and maybe then he will grow some balls, and stop complaining about being a man...

Thanks for answering but I kinda expected this response from you Cool and what's funny is this is my analogy as well why does a woman have to make a man feel like a man...if you don't feel like a man already then that's not my problem honestly. So now I'm supposed to dumb myself down or make myself look like a damsel in distress so you can feel like a man... Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Cool This is 2008 ladies and gents...I mean I won't be disrespectful and stuff if say a man isn't in the same paygarde as me or isn't driving a better car than me but don't expect me to be the chick that needs to be taken care of neither.

Interesting question for which the answer is simple: a man is born man so he just feel naturally that he is a man. I do not think that a man must accomplish something special to feel like a man, I can be wrong ? me se kon sa m'ka vwer sa.

"make a man feel like a man" becomes more popular with the progress of the feminist movement, and also the well known "independent women"  movement...that's when more women become professional, they become financial forces.....in other words there is what we'd call "role change" in our modern societies...
So men always feel the need to remind women who they are, what their role is....make a man feel like a man.

On dirait it's two species that were create to co-exist ....but now there is battle over power, equal rights...paske fi becomes such a force...
Some make more money than a lot of men.....they have degrees in this abd that....they occupy political spaces that were once reserved for men....

Yon gason Ki refuze ranmase karakte li...lose everything that makes him a man.

In my case I don't think this statement has any significant vulue....a man will always be a man.

Le jour ke li rekonet KE li tonbe, lap leve...
The power, the force is in him....

There should be mutual respect...but both sides should know what their role is.
I know what mine is....BE A MAN.

With the generation we are living too ---> the perception of let a man be a man as differents aspects.

The role of Independant woman ---> Since WE all know the prince charming isn't real (bagay ti prince lan ki pral ban'n nou happiness = it's just a Disney's story when we were little girls)

As a women we learn the real stuff (more young with the time):
- If you want something = U have to work for that
- If you want to feel special = U have to treat urself as u are a special thing
- Love is good but carreer and be financially stable is Greater
- Family doesn't mean hubby and kids (now women don't have the obligations to settle down with somes men.. and start something)
- More powerful women to hook up on: Oprah Winfrey, Tyra Banks, etc

Versus

Men still living with the old school manners abt the way to be with women. And most of the time FAIL because they want the cake and the All. (Personnally I think they need to read more about Steve Harvey, won't be a bad thing for them)
