SANDERS ON COMPASFEST & HIS RESPONSE TO MICKAEL GUIRAND!

*KOMPA MAGAZINE: Your opinion on the 2012 Miami festival and also your thoughts on what MICKAEL GUIRAND told KM about it?
SANDERS: I think that the rain has a lot to do with how things went down at the festival and just like Michael we were also victims. We only played about 6 to 7 minutes and were rushed off the stage, but on the other hand I can't say I don't care for it because it's one of the most valuable things that us Haitians have going on in the heart of downtown Miami.

I just think that the organizers, mostly stage managers should employ better strategies as far as timing and the amount of acts they are showcasing in just one day (for next time.) Noel and Cecibon has been doing this for 14 years and I applaud them for the courage that they have to keep it going on for all these years instead of saying I don't care for it. I'd rather try to give them pointers or help to try to make it better the next time around. but si on lot santi ke se mete yon lot festival an fas li kap fe haitien paret pi bel nan zyeu tout lot sa kap gade yo bonne chance!"

But the people never satisfy, I don't see how it is the only thing they have going for them..

I don't see why the second festival is an issue for you. Only Haitian would think like that. Kmart,Burger,MC Donald etc...... never say this nonsense thing. Au contraire it will motivate 24 decembre and cecibon to do a better job.

Seriously...you sound like a violin. He's your boss so why not defend him. I hope Carimi got pay for their services beccause to me in the end we the paying customers that lose.

Until we boycott all of these shady business it will continue. Us Haitian have short term memory.

What else we can expect Sanders to say about his boss Rodney? Sanders would dare talking about the festivak negatively; li paka mode dwet kap bal manje; I would do the same if I were in his shoes.
However Sanders, Haitians are not stupid and we are tired of the same excuse every year. Let's take harmonik for example, you guys had an opportunity to play for about 10 minutes; what did you bring on the table this year that could leave the public in awe? You did not give us a hint during your set that could leave an impact. The only band that had something refreshing was Disip AND THAT WAS IT.
Advise for you Sanders, try to come up with a banging album next time, before Rodney drops you guys like a bad transmission.

Glad I was not there.

And quite frankly i don't think i will be returning to that festival until i see some signs of changes.
