Game Trailer Preview

Quote from a insider who witnessed the trailer:

The E3 trailer shows us a dusty ghetto, most likely located in somewhere Haiti, with tin-roofed shacks, truck tires wedged into the dirt which are used by people as seats, deteriorating chain link fences, and goats walking around the streets. It's important to note the setting in RE5 because it's shown during the daytime, something that we've hardly ever seen in past Resident Evil games. Could it be that Capcom's next episode in their zombie slaughtering franchise is so frightening that they do not need to use nighttime or darkness as cheap devices to scare the player to death? Possibly.

More importantly, the environment is significant because if the game does take place in Haiti, there's a very high likelihood Resident Evil 5's story involves voodoo, the dominant religion in Haiti where zombies and zombie mythos first originated from. In the voodoo religion, it is believed that a corpse can be reanimated by bokors, who are sorcerers who practice both black and white magic. While this is purely speculation, there is a strong possibility that the game will go back to the roots of zombie folklore.

Bloodthirsty villagers and a new enemy

The next thing we see in the trailer is a man with a terrified look on his face, who is probably on his way to becoming a zombie. The man is being inspected by another person as they grab onto his face. As the video continues, we are reunited with the unnamed character from first Resident Evil 5 trailer, whose head is kicked in by angry villagers. The rest of the trailer shows a man with aviator glasses shouting into a megaphone, a group of pissed off people armed with sickles and axes, a man being hung upside down by his ankles, someone bleeding out of their eye sockets, and a mysterious executioner with a bag over his head with ropes tied around it (you have to watch very closely as he's quite easy to miss).

I wonder will this video game bring tourists to Haiti!!!! Laughing Laughing

WOW, they took our disaster and made it a video game with killers and all types of crap. I wish I could argue against it, but you know they took from the news and sadly enough we got elements like that in our country doing and chopping people up and stuff, remember Operation Baghdad.

What can I say?

Here is a link to the trailer monche http://kotaku.com/gaming/re_quest/got-resident-evil-5-questions-takeuchis-got-answers-279070.php

Some crazy stuff, they got wild haitian people kicking some white dude in the ground. They got some guy with megaphone kap excite moun to go fight. Of course, the people are holding machete and got this pic of dude becoming a zombie.

Man, Haiti has become ground zero for this kind of bizarre game.

Pojiab for this country.

Blanc is going to make billions on this game. They got haitian kids thinking is great. I read blog from Jamaican dude who was disappointed. Me, I do not know, I wish I could argue but lets be real they took this straight from the headlines. They even got a dude with megaphone rallying up people to fight. Unfortunately, that was exactly what Aristide guerrilla warriors did in Cite Soleil. Bagay sa is just amazing and I used to like this game. Laughing

H1,

Thanks for bringing this up! I probably would have never heard of this in a while now if I did not read it here.

XX,

Are you reading my story, I hope you read that the people I met are not suffering from any pride deprevation.

Have you lost your faith in your country? In the people? Or is it the fact you simply cannot seperate corporate greed with reality? Wink Wink Wink

Bro, Have some more faith, ok! Embarassed

Why Haitians are to blame for this and not those doing it?

Now, I hope some demagogue would go after these people for portraying these folks in those lights as much as they are trying to stop the making of Toussaint Louverture's movie. I wonder which one is more prone to hurt Haiti's image? Arrow

A la traka...

Leonce, the reason i said that people lost their pride is because of my constant interaction with friends and families back home whenever we are talking about Haiti. Before they use to complain on how the situation is over there, but now, it's another level. They just don't care. I would talk to a lot of people back there about how people in the US view them. They don't seem to care at all. But when we talk about having fun, the good times in Haiti, that's when their spirit are lifted.
I know, my opinions are based on some convos with a small group of people. But to me, with Haiti making no progress at all, i beside our music, movies, history(maybe) and some beautiful sites, we don't have much to be proud of.

I have an interesting question on this. Will HAITIANS that are into video games, especially these types of games DECLINE to play this game?

What do you think Haitianone?
