Isn't a shame that 90% of the konpa bands don't play with a second guitar anymore? New Generation konpa is nothing but a watered down version of what konpa ought to be.

In my research I found out that the best to me was not known to many.
No one in my opinion did that job ACCOMPAGNEMENT any better that DANIEL SAMEDI of Samba Créole.Off course he was also playing with one of the best guitarist solist also "à mon avis" GUY ROSEMOND.
Well another great story that many people are not aware of: the story of SAMBA CREOLE.
One day I will do a Konpa secret thread on Samba Créole.

Neg,
If I had to go with your list, I would choose Ti Polis, Claude Marcelin, Jean Claude Jean (for a good grajé), Gary Rézile (Mèt Ga).This is a personal choice which does not mean that the other guitar players are not good. As a producer I like T-polis and Claude Marcelin, because they have the ability to adapt to any music genre. Go listen to T-Polis on the last Skandal CD you will see what I am talking about. Also, in the early years of the New Generation wave, T-Claude took part on most of those recorded artists.
Peace

nèg_montreal, that's a pretty nice list or better great musicians that we have here;
I will take out some names because they have the ability to play either solo or 2nd (accompagnement)

Tony Jn Baptiste and Claude Marcelin (Djakout Mizik) used to alternate the roles and sometimes if you don't pay close attention, you cannot tell who is doing what.

T-Polis (RIP) and Laporte used to do the same thing when Nu L00K just started and still now Condé and Laporte alternate frequently in those two roles that you cannot really tell who's solo or 2nd.

I's not the same thing in Zenglen where El Pozo always go solo and Brutus does the accompagnement.
