Romans 8:16
The spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God
"When we come to Christ, God not only forgives us, he adopts. Here is how it happens. You come before the judgment seat of God full of rebelliona nd mistakes. Because of his justice he cannot dismiss your sin. But because of his love, he cannot dismiss you. So in an act which stunned the heavens, he punished himself on the cross for your sins. God's justice and love are equally h onored. And you, God's creation are forgiven."
When the couple sinned, Satan thought he had it all figured out. He thought the world and humanity would be under his control forever.
I can even imagine him gathering his angels and putting together a celebration.
I can imagine him going up to God's throne and flaunting his latest conquests.
I mean think about it! Humanity has sinned, and God in his justice cannot afford to turn a blind eye.
What he did not know is that God in his Ominisciense and foresight, already had a redemption plan from sin.
What he did not know is that God's Love for mankind is greater than his hatred for sin.
He died, so that we can live.
He who was without sin, took upon himself the sin of the world. He did it for two reasons. The first one is to uphold his character of justice and fairness. A crime had been commited and someone had to be punished.
However, the second and most important reason, is to redeem us from the one who would like nothing more than to see us die.
God could have let us die, and he would have been a just God. But because he loves us so, he chose to die instead.
The world may be under Satan's influence, but God has made us his children by his sacrifice.
So when you come before his throne, he sees you. He sees his child who has accepted his sacrifice...and not the sin you have commited.
To all who has accepted this sacrifice it is a source of strength, inspiration, and hope.
We are God's children. |
