ACCORDING TO YOUR WORD

"Then Mary said, 'Here I am, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your word"

May's example of submission to the wil of God in her life is a powerful tesimonty to all christians.

Here is a virgin young woman, engaged to be married. And an angel annouces to her that she will be pregnant by the holy spirit.

Imagine how absure that sounds. Who will believe her? Who would understand that?

This was most probably unheard of in the history of the world. It's impossible to digest evenn if one considers the supernatural tendencies of the time.

How does she even begin to explain to Joseph what she saw in her vision. How could she even put him in a position to chosse between is love for her and his own honor.

If she is even suspected of having slept with another man, She could be stoned to death...unless Jospeh takes responsiblity for her pregnancy.

Either way, they are both humiliated in front of both of their families and community.

In the face of all of these obstacles, Mary's response to the angel of God is breathtaking.

"Here I am, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your word".

This is the definition of blind obedience. This is the definiton of Faith and trust in God.

Trusting that no matter what, he will never lead you astray.

We have the perfect example from the mother of God herself.

She was called to do what has never been done before in the history of the human race.

She did not fully understand the importance of her mission at the time...but She trusted God with her life.

The Christian race is all about blind obedience to God's will in our lives, even when we do not clearly understand what that will might be.
