2 Corinthians 5:21
Christ had no sin, but God made him become sin so that in Christ we could become right with God.
Sometimes I try to imagine, In human terms, to what can I equate the fact that God through the person of jesus left his heavenly Glory and come to earth to save humanity.
Sometimes I think... hmmm... who in their right ming, if they heard that all pigs were set to die, would accept to become a pig, and die in their stead so that they could live.
Can you imagine being in a pig's body, walking around in mud, eating food that has been trashed by humans, being dirty all day.
Worst yet, you still remember and have all knowledge of what it is like to be human.
Even worst, you can see and feel that the pigs which you have come to save are not even aware of the great sacrifice that you have decided to make for them.
They see you as someone who has come to change their way of life and everything they believe in.
You can see that they don't understand that because of your great sacrifice... they get a chance to live once and for all.
This is what Christ has done for us...
He has lowered himself to levels that the angels of heaven will never understand.
He has lowered himself to levels that we will never understand even after the above scenario... Not only none of us will never become a pig to save the species... but because Jesus's sacrifice was even greater.
If we did understand... than we wouldn't be so quick to give up on ourselves when the going gets tough... because we would know that if God sent his only son to redeem us... than it must mean that we are precious.
If we did understand than we would know that we are able to do anything through God who strengthens us.
"When the one who knew no sin became sin for us... God didn't call up his army of of angels to come and save him. He didn't because he knew he would rather give up his son than give up on us. "
If we did understand than we would stop beating ourselves up trying to redeem ourselves when we are already redeemed...through Christ.
"When the one who knew no sin became sin for us... God didn't call up his army of of angels to come and save him. He didn't because he knew he wanted to create an eternal link between God and humanity."
A christian is one who recognizes HIS POWER... NOT THROUGH HIMSELF... BUT THROUGH CHRIST. |
