To the public in general,

Due to extenuating circumstances involving the current climate of uncertainty in Port au Prince, in addition to the impossible task of arriving at a decision with the Carnaval committee in a timely manner, we regret to inform the public in general that Djakout #1 all not be participating in this years Carnaval festivities. We feel that it would be irresponsible if we did not take into consideration the attendees that follow us along the parcours religiously. Our decision was not an easy one to make because as musicians we are obligated to please our fans, however as humans we are obligated to do so in a manner that would not make us feel culpable. Safety is our priority, whether it be that of our musicians, staff, or attendees, it would be unethical not to take into consideration the un-ease among the people of our country today. We do not discourage anyone from attending the activities, we ask that everyone use good judgement, and may you all stay safe. That being said, we wish everyone a joyous carnival and we hope that peace and tranquility will reign on Haiti and may god bless its children.
