We asked former KING POSSE founder/manager FRED LIZAIRE to keep it real and tell us IF KING POSSE was more popular in its heyday compared to the popularity of BARIKAD CREW and ROCKFAM. This is what he told Kompa Magazine.

FRED LIZAIRE: "KING POSSE was able to integrate other social classes that those 2 bands were or have not been able to as much; however, BARIKAD CREW and ROCKFAM are much more popular than KING POSSE was."

PS: By the way BIG UP TO FRED LIZAIRE as he was the only one who went over to give a piece of his mind to the security guard who brutally escorted CAREL PEDRE out of the press pit at Compasfest. FRED was NOT backing down either. BRAVO.

KM!

Might be true.

But mwen panse ke posse a te pi populaire in the states than BC And ROCKFAM.

Im not sure if posse ever travelled here to perform but I think more people in the diaspora listened to their music than BC OR ROCKFAM.

I have not been to Haiti since the rise of BC and Rockfam, but after reading a COMMENT like this they MUST BE REALLY REALLY REALLY popular in Haiti.

But I don't see the ALLURE of these two groups.

I have seen their performances online and heard different tracks from them and I still don't see it.

When you talk about King Posse and maybe ORS, I saw the allure from them.

I felt two groups producing FUN music.

And I think King Posse/ORS attracted the DIASPORA more than BC/Rockfam, am I wrong in thinking that.

P.S. enter Mingolove... He will be here.

He speaks the truth. Back in their days, King Posse was huge sepcially during carnival, neg yo te pran sa pou yo net. Neg yo domine tout style de 96 juska 2001. They were accepted by everyone.
However they didn't reach Barikad Crew and Rockfam popularity in Haiti. It's unbelievable to watch people singing word after word all these guys Rap verses. Neg sa yo pran Haiti pou yo.

i don't think they more popular than king posse, it's just that they are more in your face with it cause king had the whole country from kids to adult with them while BC and RF have more of the youth support.

king posse used to have like 3 shows in day and guess what they are all full to the max

patizan most don't like it as you know sometime it's not only about the music, it's the full package and some people still have a hard time getting into the rap kreyol thing
