With all the devastation from the earthquake, as well as with the disease outbreak going around in Haiti...IS IT A GOOD IDEA RIGHT NOW for the country to go on as planned with a CARNIVAL in FEBRUARY/MARCH 2011?

Even if the carnival doors are open...SHOULD THE BANDS TAKE A STAND and decline an invitation to go down there and play or not?

Your thoughts please.

KM!

Ayiti pake jete lajan konsa.. Organizing Kanaval takes alot of money.

The Haitian people love their Kanavals.. and it will liven up their spirits for the moment but when all is said and done, they're back to reality. I'd rather see those funds going towards Relief efforts and the reconstruction of the Country..

Maybe something minor like a DJ or Ban a pye just for a mental break but spending all that money;... Just dont see it happening..

That's a big NO NO, and I say this for a couple reasons. First, I don't think the country can afford that after billions of $ in losses due to the earthquacke.Or if they think they do, why not using that money to help those still affected by January12? Secondly, the only way I can imagine we go on to hold a Carnival in 2011 is only if they plan it in a sort of a fund raising event to assist not only the earthquacke victims, but also primary unfortunate cases from the Cholera outbreak.

That would be an emphatic NO!!!!!!!

Yes life must go on and after Hurricane katrina in New Orleans they had Mardi Gras but Haiti is on a whole other level right now. Bagay yo pa bon dutout and more power to the people that will participate if a kanaval happens but I wouldn't be able to consciously partake in any of these activites. My deux centimes of course Cool
