Producer and radio host BAZILE JEAN BERTHOL, along with his partner SEVERE in Miami, have been credited by RICHIE with his inspiration for penning the song "BAGAY 9", because when the band did not yet have a name, that was the name that those two were calling the band.
We told BAZILE that he is partly responsible for RICHIE critics to stick it to him with that "BAGAY 9" label...with them saying PA GIN BAGAY 9 from the recently released single of the same name. NOM MIZIK LA TOUNIN YON PONGONGON NAN DEYE JAZZ YO RELE "KLASS LA". We asked BAZILE if he agreed or disagreed. This is what he told KM.
BAZILE: "How can the fans judge the band based on 1 song to say that PA GIN BAGAY 9?. I disagree with that tactic. Having said that, while I can say that the style/song is not totally NEW or NEUF, I will also say that RICHIE did NOT go the Zenglen route either because MIZIK LA PA SANBLE ZENGLEN tou. MIZIK LA PA NEUF...MIN LI PA GIN ANYIN ZENGLEN TOU KI LADAN LI. He could have used that because it was his style for 10 plus years, so he must be given credit for not doing that as well. ALBUM NAN POKO SOTI, SE POU MOUN YO TAN'N LEU CD A SOTI POU YO JUGE JAZZ LA."

Richie, Pozo and Nixon Mesidor (on albums) have been the sound of Zenglen for many years!! SO yes the title is a pongongon for the band.. I expect the band too sound different from Zenglen.. that might be hard. and btw I expect Kompa not Opera..lol
